WORDS MATTER

In fact, your words are the most important part of your practice. I’m a writer, so I might be biased, but I’d argue that your firm isn't your team. It isn’t even your portfolio.

Your firm is your language.

Everything else follows from that.

Hi. I’m Jimmy Stamp

I’m the founder of ADVSCOPY. I’m also a recovering architectural designer and a writer with nearly 20 years of experience covering architecture as a critic, journalist, and historian. My work has appeared in The Guardian, Smithsonian, The Architect's Newspaper, and many other publications.

Throughout that career in journalism, I had one mission: to make architecture more accessible. Make it easy to understand. Make it clear. And make people actually care about it. I started ADVSCOPY in 2019 to expand that mission by working alongside architects and designers to share their work so their ideal clients will actually understand it — and, yes, care about it. Since then, I've helped everyone from solo practitioners to multi-billion-dollar firms sharpen their message and share their value to win awards, attract dream clients, and grow their practice.

Why is this working so well?

Because I speak your language, but I also speak your client’s language. With ADVSCOPY, I’m combining journalistic storytelling, critical insight, and strategic copywriting to make your work as clear and compelling as the spaces you design.

Your words matter. ADVSCOPY can help you find the right ones

When I’m not helping AEC pros tell their story, I’m probably writing my own. My short story The Beekeeper’s Due was recognized with an Eisner Award nomination (the Oscars of comic books) in 2023, and I’m currently working on Relics of Northmore, a series inspired by the early life of architect Augustus W.N. Pugin — because nothing says thrilling comic book action like a 19th-century Gothic revivalist with a strong opinion about windows.

If you’re here looking for academic bona fides, I earned a Master of Environmental Design degree from the Yale School of Architecture, as well as a Master's and Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University.
